Desk to Drinks: The Skater Dress in Boston

Seeing old friends in our favorite places is without a doubt the best perk of summertime. What's even better is when these friends (and their little dogs) pose for our cameras in Tuckernuck clothing...
Our close friend Alex agreed to wear her Amanda Uprichard Denim dress for an impromptu photo shoot in the back yard of her family's beach house on Nantucket. She paired the dress with a Raina Love Knot Belt, gold Jack Rogers, and pearl stud earrings. She then added a pair of her own classic, cat-eye sunglasses, which gave the outfit a cool, retro flair. While the dress popped against the hydrangeas this time of year, Alex can also wear this effortless piece into the chilly fall months in Boston, her hometown, with a blazer and ballet flats.
We love when we find a versatile piece that we can wear
day-to-night, weekday to weekend, season to season. So, you can imagine
our delight when we
discovered the Amanda Uprichard Silk Shell, a sleek basic that has a
magical ability to add polish to any look, anywhere. These ladies wore
the shell in San Francisco, Washington D.C., Palm Beach, and Miami,
proving the versatility of this chic alternative to a cotton tank. Tuck
it into skinny jeans, floral pants, or printed skirts, then complete
your look with a Raina belt, linen blazer, Gigi clutch,
Anniel Flats, a statement necklace, or Visconti sandals. Whether you're on the East Coast or
West, commuting to work or enjoying a day off, dressing for brunch or
dinner, this top offers a sophisticated base for every kind of outfit.
Cate jetted off for a long weekend in Florida where she donned some of our favorite resort pieces. For an afternoon around town, she rocked the Madison Marcus Embellished Striped Dress with turquoise earrings and gold Jack Rogers. When it came time for a night out, Cate opted for an Amanda Uprichard Silk Shell, which she paired with sparkly shorts, our Raina Bow belt, and stacked bracelets. Cate loves adding personality to classic basics with accessories like an armful of bracelets or statement earrings.
Our intern Emma was featured in our Tuckernuck Style section last fall. As always, we admire her ability to add a bohemian and hip touch to the most traditional of outfits. This year, she was joined in DC by her equally charming younger sister, Carly, a George Washington University student. We caught up with them at the local gourmet market after their respective internships. Emma threw on her Barbour Jacket over a flirty polka dot dress, and added some spice with her scalloped booties. Carly stayed office-appropriate in her versatile pencil skirt and amazing gray blazer (the plaid detail really makes the outfit).
What gets us through dreary winter days and cold dark nights? Embracing the chill with friends, in snowflake cardigans, reindeer socks and windproof, Swedish pullovers! Ice skating, snow shoeing, paddle tennis and skiing are a few activities among many we indulge in during January, February and March.
Last weekend we enticed some old friends from college to escape New York City and come down south to the Georgetown waterfront. James and Andrea rocked their Holebrook sweaters and Lisa B. socks while gliding around the ice, catching everyone's eyes.
